Synthetic Dyes color was first accidentally discovered by William
Perkin, an eighteen year old boy in 1856. He started production
near London , after consultations with professional dyers. In 1869 Perkin
announced the formula for 'Alizarin',the artificial synthesis
of the dyestuff of the maddar plant. It was very cheap to produce, and
completely eliminated the laborious process of extracting the dyestuff
from the plant - root, but the tone was much harsher than vegetable
maddar and lacked its pleasing glow. After years and years of research,
now synthetic dyes are widely available for processing different kinds
of clothes with various recipes.
